The Magic of Social Media and runDisney

09/4/2013

runDisney events are truly magical. The characters. The excitement. The parks. The community. The medals.

However, not all of us are able to experience every event. While for any other race, you would sit at home and pout – runDisney, once again, does things differently.

They take you along for the ride!

The Magic of Social Media and runDisney

Through the power of social media, we are able to experience the magic of the runDisney events, even when we can’t physically be there. We follow the participants as they play in the parks, explore the expo, run the races and take photos with their shiny new medals. Even better? The social media fun continues after the events themselves.

So how do you get in on the social media magic?

Follow the Experts

For starters, you follow runDisney! Their Twitter and Instagram accounts include photos from the weekend festivities.

Make Friends

What about all your fellow runDisney enthusiasts? Many are social media savvy and have multiple accounts. Follow #runDisney on Twitter for the latest fan photos! You can also join Facebook groups. Best of all, you may make a friend…or 100!

Smile for the Camera

Another great way to experience a runDisney event via social media is through runDisney TV! Dennis Marsico positions himself throughout the various race courses, interviewing runners along the way. His enthusiasm is contagious and the videos are fantastic!

Experience the Magic All Year Long

The best part about social media? It continues well after race weekend! Follow runDisney and all the runDisney enthusiasts on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and blogs to keep up on their training and encourage one another along the way. The friendships made will last a lifetime!

Be sure to follow us on social media as well! We can be found on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!

I absolutely love the power of social media! Although I wasn’t physically at Disneyland for the Dumbo Double Dare I definitely felt as though I was still a part of the experience. Seeing everybody’s photos, Tweets, and Facebook posts has gotten me that much more excited for Marathon weekend in January!

Love following along on all social media outlets… I have only had on runDisney weekend to enjoy (so far) myself. (Tink 2013) – It is so fun to watch and experience the events that others who must have bulkier bank accounts, less children, and more spare time then I have experience all the magic! Can’t wait to go back myself for Tink 2014!

I have tried to get into some of the past meet ups and finally this time was magical! Tweeting and posting live pictures were awesome from the participants, they always made you feel like you were right there with the meet up. I’ll be the one tweeting along this time for sure!
