Disclosure: Megan is using Krissy’s coaching for her upcoming Walt Disney World Marathon. While she did receive a discount on the package, all opinions are honest.
When it comes to training for a runDisney race or challenge, you may need a little extra assistance. While someone can’t do the training for you, they can be your coach and encourager!
Krissy Murphy, a runDisney enthusiast, is a RRCA Certified Coach with a lot of running experience. She is taking that experience and passing it along to other runners who are looking to work toward their race goals!
In true Disney fashion, she not only bases her coaching around runDisney events, she even created her packages based on the Walt Disney World monorail! (Note: She is willing to work with you on races other than runDisney races and can create specific packages to match your needs as well.)
This initial consulting package includes her coaching questionnaire along with a 30-minute consultation. From there, she will personalize your next steps. Cost: $25
Along with the above Express Monorail components, this package also includes a personalized training plan – up to 18 weeks in length. She also offers unlimited access via text messaging or email, as well as a race-day strategy session. Cost: $100
This package is very similar to the Resort Monorail, but also includes recommendations for pre-training. Cost: $125
The questionnaire is very thorough and takes into account your running history and goals. She asks how many days a week you are willing to run along with the forms of cross training you enjoy. After the questionnaire, she has a consultation to make sure you are both on the same page! Soon after, she creates a plan that is personalized for you – even including goal paces for each run.
Throughout training, things happen. With the unlimited support in the Resort and Epcot Monorail packages, Krissy is able to answer questions that may pop up or offer advice when things aren’t going as planned.
Before the race, Krissy also is available to help with your race day strategy. If you are preparing for a runDisney race, she has experienced most (if not all!) and is able to help you through the difficult parts of the course, and the areas to let it fly. She also has experience on getting those awesome character photos too!
